SWAN MIAMI - the anticipation*

Heard about Swan via something on Instagram (IG) earlier this year. I’m pretty sure it was from Pharrell’s IG story.
Construction
Taking place in the Miami Design District. I’m also pretty sure I saw the construction after my viewing of Museum Garage after leaving ICA. Swan Miami signage on the empty lot reminds us of what is to come. I didn’t keep up with much of the actual building but it was happening.
#Haute100
10/26/18 Haute Living hosted their 10th anniversary there. Unfortunately, I didn’t see any food in the recap video or IG feed. Essentially, everyone “powerful and influential” in Miami like D Wade. I did see Winnie Harlow there in this lovely red dress.
Curiosity
I began texting my friends and engaging on IG like what kind of cuisine should I expect? I mean, I want to go but what are they serving? I began to criticize everyone in the IG comments praising this place and not having a clue of what would be served. The hype was way too real. Instead of being that person on Instagram, I began my research. Miami New Times wrote a very small paragraph about Swan Miami. As of 11/2/18 there’s a little more detailed article by Laine Doss. Interestingly enough, I could not get my hands on an official press release about Swan or Bevy. Managed to come across a descriptive article from Food & Wine website by Clarissa Buch on 10/19/18.
Instagram Stories
Stories prompt me to visit the website. It had an option for reservations and sign up for mailing list. So I did my own research via IG and the executive chef Jean Imbert, from France, has a highlight of basically how him and Pharrell’s relationship/partnership began.
From that I gather maybe there will be French influences incorporated into the cuisine.
Tasting
This took place on 11/2/18 and Trevor Noah was there along with Lenny Kravitz. Not sure what was on the tasting menu. I think it’s top secret.
Opening
Tuesday, November 6, 2018, is the opening day. “Now taking reservations”, says the IG bio. Also, they’re now looking to grow their team.
Conclusion
If you know me, I love to be immersed in lovely design and architecture. However, if the food doesn't capture me, I’m willing to enjoy a glass of their finest bubbles in a rose color. My good friend girl says she’s not going for the food after showing her a photo of Kravitz and Noah at Swan. I guess we’ll both be enjoying those bubbles from a rose gold bottle with the spade on it and having laughs with the guests.
*This is my experience as a potential guest to this business and my online experience with it.
