View fullsize Swizz Beatz #NoCommission Art Fair x BACARDÍ VIP Preview #ArtBasel December 15, 2015 “Black on white and white on black is the color scheme for the No Commission Art Fair brought to you by Swizz Beatz -The Dean Collection and BACARDÍ. This fair was strategically placed in the Wynwood neighborhood of Miami for Art Basel. This Wednesday night was about toasting to the four day fair, previewing the art and hosting the VIP/Press. Previewing a fair is the best way to see it. Not only did you get to pop BACARDÍ with talented industry favorites, you also got the chance to purchase art before anyone else. Not trying to name drop but artist like Kaws, Sue Tsai, Jill Greenberg, Dustin Yellin, Gregory Siff and Gabriel Dawe had the opportunity to exhibit at No Commission Contemporary Art Fair.During the night, the “no commission” concept was the talk of the preview. For example, did you know artist split their earnings with their host gallery 50-50? Jill Greenberg’s husband, Robert O. Green explained this to us as we viewed his wife’s piece “Cluster Fuck”- a 60x80 ink on canvas (that later sold). He continued to let us know that No Commission Art Fair is about the artist collecting 100% of their earnings. Moments later Jennifer comes behind us with this beautiful smile and enthusiasm. My friend and I asked her about the details in the piece. As a group of women we all agreed that it was a sexy work of art. There were no naked women in the canvas but the dark amber colors and typography of the word “fuck” inserted in the painting made it very sensual. Robert explained to us that it was a photo of her painting. Google Jill Greenberg to get up on this legend. Never mind, go straight to her website and read her bio. You will see some #OrangeIsTheNewBlack, #ScreamQueens photography and much more. Besides the artist keeping all of their coins, do you know what was most exciting about this particular show? Yes, the BACARDÍ bars were nice but the interaction with the artist had to be the highlight. You could talk for hours with the artist about the arts, fashion and get good feedback from them. Then when you look over your left shoulder, 6 feet away, you could see Mack Wilds laughing with Swizz Beatz. Next thing you know Sue Tsai walks by. I stop her and say “Hi Sue”, she replies hello with a humbling smile. I said “You don’t know me but I follow you on instagram and I love your work; I have your flash tattoos.” Then we part ways. As mentioned earlier, Swizz Beatz, Lenny Kravitz and Mack Wilds were touring the fair amongst other VIPs. The contemporary art fair was opened to the public Thursday – Sunday 11am-8pm. After the fair came the night show #BacardiHouseParty also know as the #UntameableHouseParty. Headliners included Alicia Keys, Pusha T and Swizz Beatz along with other award winning talents. ”
