WELCOME 2 MIAMI NIKE

I always enjoyed Nike but June 2015 showed me a side of Nike I could connect to.

I ran one of the most important races in my life: Nike Toronto 15k. I always had this negative relationship with running…I loved sprints but hated long distance running. In an effort to dispel this hate, I entered myself into the raffle and was selected amongst hundreds of women to run the 15k in Toronto. Nike did amazing things such delivered weekly emails, provided a detailed training packet, suggested training items and sent me the coolest map to get familiar with the Toronto island. I was ready!

Fast forward to race day. Right before it was time for my wave, I was in search of a restroom (found it), I skipped this long line to get some kinesiology tape for support and damn near missed my wave. With my camera in hand, I made it! 9.32057 miles (15k) later, I sprinted though the finish line into a group of photographers, picked up an apple, received my finishing gift (a Tiffany Necklace) and a gift bag.

Let me highlight what Nike did for the runners on that island: Live 416BEATS Drumline, church choir on the trail, food trucks, warm welcome from team members on the bridge, vendors on site to provide aid for runners, plus more.

After the run, there was a stretching room with a DJ under black light. I lost my mind because it was incredible! Trainers walked around the room to assist you. Tennis balls, yoga mats, foam rollers were all there to help each runner who needed rest and recovery. Hell, I needed it after running for nearly 2 hours on a beautiful island.

I could go on about this experience. However, I’ll end with this—Welcome to Miami Nike. I look forward to running, training, shopping and getting to know more of what you have to offer Miamians.
