When I moved to Miami, I realized that sushi would never be the same. I've had some of the best sushi in Louisiana, specifically New Orleans and Baton Rouge. The sushi chefs there are talented. Sometimes when I dine in Miami, I feel like I'm not getting the best out of my culinary experience. Almost like I feel like I'm eating tourist/attraction food that has great images on the internet but the quality, once it reaches your mouth, is terrible. This is why I'm very selective when it comes to finding dining options in Miami.
At any rate, check out my sushi moment at Sushi Yama in Baton Rouge, LA. I appreciate Sushi Yama for their complimentary cucumber crab salad and fresh pineapple pieces. This is one of the only places where you can enjoy pineapple infused cold sake. The price points are very reasonable and the food is sensational.
